The Pointless Post
I write this post because: 1. I stupidly drank a caffinated drink before bed and now can't get to sleep, and 2. I haven't blogged in a long time. I haven't blogged in a while because I was attempting NaNoWriMo, which took up all of my writing time, and which I didn't even finish. I stopped at 13k words, which is a measly excuse not to blog since that was only two weeks of writing. I guess I haven't blogged because I haven't had much to say.
That's a lie. I always have something to say even if it's something crazy I just thought of in two seconds. I haven't blogged because I haven't felt like it.
There, admitting it is the worst part...
Moving along, I should probably be seguing into the actual subject of this blog. But I haven't one. This is a 3 am blog post, did you really expect it to be anything but crap? That sounded kind of snarky. I didn't mean for it to sound snarky.
I should get to a point, shouldn't I? Someone out there is actually going out of their way to read this, and they deserve a point, a thought on which to ponder about.
But I'm so far into this post without a "real" point, that it could be my gimmick; my cliffhanger. Will I make a real point or won't I? It's like Lost. You don't know what sh*t will go down next!
I should just stop right h
I didn't finish that sentence. Did you see that COMING?! Probably... since reading doesn't work like movies or tv, and you actually can see what's ahead. Oh, well... It's something to read beside your Facebook's news feed.
I think Facebook is the death of good manners. True, it can a great and effective tool for communicating with friends across the globe, but when used locally it brings out the laziness in people.
People stop talking to each other in person because posting a wall message is easier. People use it to start fights with each other because they don't have the guts to do it in person. People break up on it, just because it's not as hard. People use it to gossip because they're like petty schoolchildren who don't know how to keep their noses in their own business.
I have none of these problems with my own Facebook friends. I'm very fortunate to not be online friends with anyone from my town. But I see people from my town who use it for such petty, chilidish reasons and it bothers me. It's a prime example of how technology can be abused.
But really it isn't Facebook that causes bad manners, it's people who found an outlet for their immature behaviour and took advantage of it.
Hey, look, I actually made a point! Albeit, it was introduced by a half-hearted segue. But it was a point, nonetheless. That means something, right?

Keith Richards Snorts Horcruxes
I was inspired by my friend Gerarda's blog posts, and decided to start up this blog. Now that I've this blog, I'm not sure what to blog about! There's so many topics in this world; how am I supposed to coherently discuss one?!
Since Keith Richards just released his autobiography, I am going to discuss things you should not snort. There are a variety of things you should not snort. Pencil shavings, rat poison, slip 'n slides, easy cheese, and with significant emphasis, PARENTS. I love Keith, I do, but snorting objects that used to be people just isn't right.
While I prefer my rock musicians falling out of coconut trees instead of snorting a parent; I miss the crazy antics of musicians. Most mainstream musicians are as fascinating as beige walls. Lady Gaga and Kanye West are the only people who do crazy things, and they just do it for the press. What happened to excitement of the business? The spontaniety of it all. In the words of B.B. King, 'The Thrill is Gone.'
We're a pretty jaded society. Gone are the days of people being shocked by drug arrests. Drug arrests are now a very common occurance. Tirades? A tad shocking, but not overly so.
I'm not saying that I want musicians suffering several drug addictions or going on tirades, but can't they have some personality? Bob Dylan is a great example. He didn't play to the press, but he still had so much personality. But with today's musicians, there's not a lot going on musically, and there's usually not much going on personality-wise. Just a bunch of people trying to sound like what other popular bands/singers sound like.
Do you agree? Do you profusely disagree with me? Thought of some other objects you shouldn't snort? Leave Leave a comment!
I leave you with a song that's kind of-ish related to Keith, that crazy kid. It's a great cover by a great group.
